About Shayleen
Thank you for taking the time to visit and learn more about my professional background and the healthcare services I provide.
I began my career with the Queensland Government (QG) in 1994, working alongside Premiers, Ministers, Commissioners, and other senior officials. During my tenure with QG, I gained extensive experience in policy and procedure development, evidence gathering, reporting, and ensuring accountability and compliance.
In 2019, I transitioned into the healthcare sector to pursue a career dedicated to supporting individuals with diverse needs. Since then, I have provided care and assistance to recipients of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Home Care Package (HCP). I have had the privilege of supporting individuals living with complex medical conditions, including Malignancy, Motor Neuron Disease (MND), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Muscular Dystrophy (MD), Parkinson's Disease (PD), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Spina Bifida, and Fibromyalgia. Additionally, I have supported individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down Syndrome, and various mental health conditions.
Since 2019, I have provided palliative care to over twelve (12) individuals, supporting them with dignity and compassion through their end-of-life journey. My clinical skills include personal care, bowel therapy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) feeding, catheter and STOMA care, wound care, hoisting, and manual transfers. I am also experienced in providing medication assistance (certified), social and community engagement, meal preparation, and home support.
To ensure the highest standard of care is delivered, I maintain professional indemnity and public liability insurance, hold an NDIS Worker Screening Check card, and possess a Working with Children Check (Yellow and Blue Cards).
It is my mission to provide compassionate, person-centered care that promotes quality of life and independence for every individual I support.
